◆ Seller Guide

How to create an auction.

Creating a listing on StockSalvage takes under 10 minutes. Follow this step-by-step guide to launch your first timed auction, open bid, or buy-now lot.

STEP 01

Go to your seller dashboard

Log in and navigate to Seller → My Listings. Click the + New Listing button to open the listing creation form. You must have a verified business account to publish.

STEP 02

Fill in lot details

Enter a clear title, detailed description, and select the appropriate category. Specify the condition grade, location, and any relevant serial numbers or certifications. Accurate details attract more qualified bids.

STEP 03

Upload photos & docs

Upload at least 3 high-resolution images showing different angles. For lots valued above $5,000, attach an inspection report or condition certificate. PDFs and images up to 10MB are supported.

STEP 04

Choose sale type & pricing

Select your sale format:

  • Timed Auction — Bidders compete within a set window. Set reserve and starting bid.
  • Open Bid — Buyers submit private offers. You choose the best one.
  • Buy Now — Fixed price. First buyer to pay secures the lot.
STEP 05

Set duration & visibility

For timed auctions, choose a duration between 3 and 14 days. Set your reserve price (hidden from bidders) and any bid increments. Toggle visibility — public to all verified buyers or invite-only.

STEP 06

Review & publish

Preview your listing before submission. Our moderation team reviews every lot for compliance and accuracy. Approved listings typically go live within 2–4 hours. You'll receive an email confirmation once published.

Tip:

Lots with professional photos and detailed condition reports receive up to 3x more bids. Include dimensions, operational hours, and maintenance history where applicable.

Most Popular

A classic competitive auction with a fixed end time. Bidders place incremental bids. The highest bidder at expiry wins. Reserve prices protect your minimum acceptable value.

Surplus machinery, fleet vehicles, high-demand equipment

Open Bid

Flexible

Buyers submit private offers at any time. You review all bids and manually award the lot to your preferred buyer. No fixed deadline — you control when to close.

Best for

Specialized assets, negotiated sales, bulk lots

Buy Now

Fast

A fixed price listing. The first verified buyer to complete payment secures the lot immediately. No bidding, no waiting. Price is non-negotiable unless you enable offers.

Best for

FMCG stock, spare parts, low-value items

◆ Trust

Verified. Escrowed. Protected.

KYC for every participant

Both buyers and sellers undergo business verification. We check company registration, VAT status, and bank details before any transactions are permitted.

Escrow settlement

Buyer funds are held in escrow until the asset is inspected and handover is confirmed. Sellers are paid only after successful delivery.

Inspection reports

High-value lots require independent condition reports. Photos, operational tests, and serial numbers are all logged on-chain for transparency.

Dispute resolution

Our SADC-based dispute team mediates disagreements within 10 business days. Binding arbitration is available for claims above $50,000.
